Is it basketball season yet?

We are in mid/late October already, wow!  There is a bite to the morning air, the leaves are changing colors and the days are getting shorter.  Winter, the holidays and college basketball season are just around the corner.  In the spirit of college hoops I’ve hit the floor this week, literally, to paint the Wu Shock logo for probably one of the biggest Shocker hoops fans in the state of Kansas.  We have a 9′ x 9′ space cleared out on his garage floor for Wu.  The concrete is doing a number on my knees and neck but it’s well worth it.  I have never worked on a concrete canvas before, but it is going on nicely and I am excited to complete this project (hopefully this week).  If the Shox make the tournament this year I am charging my client extra ;)

Here are some progress pics so far…

Go SHOCKERS!

God Bless,

sorry that i’m approaching this backwards! it’s great to see the black and white- well done! yes, crawling around on concrete is tough, but for me, i seemed to feel younger the more i crawled around on the concrete! i am much better than i was eight or so years ago when i would stand up and hobble across the room like a stunted old woman! now i am a semi-old woman and no longer hobble! i probably just jinxed myself! z

Ha! Yes, there was some hobbling going on, but the “good” kind of hobble. There is a difference between being sore and tired from work and sore and tired from painting/creating. I loved it. Wish I could do this type of thing full time.

that’s great! i love painting floors as well, and am eyeing the bodega floor where i now live. it was used as a farm storage room for a shrimp farm, and it took me two days of cleaning to remove grease and stains.. the floor and i have eyed each other for weeks now.. it’s near the river, and i fear there will always be moisture rising.. i’m considering an experiment on the back side of vinyl linoleum like some people paint floor cloths.. it’s incubating for now!
